Draft Funk – 8 Bit Brewing Company from Murrieta, CA
Before opening:
Alc by vol. 8.4%
Style: Sour DIPA
Raspberry, Lemon, Nelson, Pacifica, “The Bruce”.
Additional notes: I bought this beer on a whim mostly for the label. Daft Punk did a lot for my musical interests while growing up, so I can’t not buy this based on the label alone. It’s a sour DIPA, so with that territory, I knew it was gonna be pretty funked up.
Beer Experience:
Poured from the can into a tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours quickly. Good head retention. Pink and grapefruit in color..
Aroma: Funky nose like a damp washroom. Small hint of berry/fruit.
Taste: Very tart and and effervescent. Tickles the tongue with a slight sour punch. Sort of sits at the back of the mouth with a heavy musty presence after drinking.
Finish: Musty and sort of dry.
Summary: A good beer with a really cool label/art. Punchy and sweet with a nice overall tart profile. Not too funky either. A good juice!
