KASATO MARU NE IPA with Japanese Tangerine – Japas Brewing
Before opening:
Alc by vol. 6.5% – 40 IBU

Style: NE IPA with Dekopon
From their website: On June 18, 1908, Kasato Maru, the first Japanese immigrant ship landed in Brazil, marking the beginning of an influence that contributed so much to our cultural formation.

This beer is a tribute to all Japanese descendants and immigrants who have come here. An IPA, refreshing and highly hopped, with the addition of dekopon, a mandarine of Japanese origin that also arrived as “immigrant” to our home country.

Beer Experience:
Poured from a can into a 10oz Tulip Glass. (Shout out to Living Waters Brewing, this glass gets used all the time.)

Appearance: Pours hazy and bright/light yellow. A small head forms and doesn’t retain too long.

Aroma: Citrusy and bright. Some hop aroma kicking in. Clean smelling. Wakes you up. Very inviting.

Taste: Strong bitter taste followed by a strong citrus punch. It’s almost like a light hearted orange juice. You get invited to get energized by drinking this. All that’s missing is pulp. This is one of those flavored IPAs that really grabs my attention. This is super.

Finish: The finish is very bitter with a lingering dank note at the back of the mouth. Leaves you thirsty for more.

Summary: Super impressed. I liked their other beers I received and I REALLY wish I could get my hands on these locally. This NE IPA is super good and refreshing. I want to make a cocktail with this.
